You are your most potent healer. Massage therapy encourages and supports your body’s innate healing process
my approach
-
Deep Relaxation
I combine my diverse bodywork training in shiatsu, acupressure, Swedish massage, deep tissue and myofascial cupping to support balance, relaxation, safety, and release in the body.
My sessions can look like deep specific injury work, subtle energetic unwinding, whole body integration, or a combination of all three depending on your unique needs. Curating a therapeutic session by listening to both your physical and emotional bodies can support deep nourishment, connection, and transformation.

Pre and Postnatal
Prenatal Massage Therapy relieves stress on weight-bearing joints, reduces swelling, and improves breathing, digestion, and sleep quality. I also integrate my knowledge as a birth doula to help prepare your body and baby for labor.
Postpartum Massage promotes recovery from the physical challenges of the fourth trimester and beyond. One session could alleviate tension in your wrists, forearm, and neck or address lingering discomforts from delivery.

Acupressure
Acupressure is a Traditional Chinese Medicine bodywork modality that was developed over 5,000 years ago based on the same ideas as Acupuncture. Using the fingers to gradually guide qi, or energy, along specific pathways of the body can provide stress relief, reduce tension and stagnation, boost the immune system, help with sleep, reduce pain, increase circulation, support emotional balancing, and support life force vitality.
Acupressure brings about relief through greater balance and circulation of fluids (blood and lymph) and metabolic energies in the body (heat and Qi).

Cupping
The effects of cupping are comparable in many ways to those of deep tissue work and the technique can be used to help treat and ease the symptoms of both chronic and temporary health conditions. Cupping Therapy uses small suction cups to soften tight muscles, increase circulation, break up adhesions, lift connective tissue, and stimulate a balanced flow of energy. Cupping sessions (30min) are combined with light massage and can be booked individually or in conjunction with another modality.

Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a movement meditation. This Japanese healing art traditionally practiced fully clothed on a mat on the ground incorporates stretching, rhythmic deep compressions, and rocking to release stagnation in circulation. Fresh oxygenated blood, the vital force that keeps the human body healthy, needs to flow freely, and evenly, throughout the body to heal damaged tissue and obtain proper health. Shiatsu is a truly profound and grounding experience.

Trauma Informed Bodywork
In my studio all bodies are good bodies. My bodywork practice is rooted in the belief that all healing begins with safety and the knowing that not everyone feels safe in their bodies all of the time. Our bodies remember trauma even if our minds forget. As a practitioner, I strive to cultivate as much safety for each person as possible by helping you position your body in a way that is comfortable for you, communicating boundaries with each other before we initiate touch, using your preferred pronouns, asking before I touch a sensitive area, and holding compassionate space for difficult feelings if they do arise.

Abdominal Massage
So much is held in our bellies- shame, trauma, insecurities, and of course our vital organs. An often overlooked area in massage, abdominal work can be extremely profound and aid in digestion, healing from trauma, recovering from birth, treating diastasis recti and low back pain, developing a more loving relationship with your belly and/or uterus, and easing painful menstration, PMS, PCOS, or endometriosis symptoms. I can also incorporate scar tissue work if you are healing from cesarean birth. The techniques I utilize are gentle but the effects are significant. Are you ready to love your belly?
