Prenatal and Birth Support
Birth is an embodied journey that begins long before labor does. I am here to support you along the way.
The breakdown:
-
Prenatal visits are opportunities for us to build our relationship and trust with one another. I will guide you in envisioning your birth and postpartum preferences and planning for the unexpected.
We will go over:
fears, anxieties, and concerns
Prenatal and Postpartum nutrition
Physiology of birth and stages of labor
Signs of early labor
Interventions and inductions
Birth planning
Coping techniques and comfort measures
How to encourage a natural induction of labor and optimize baby’s position for birth
Lactation
Postpartum and newborn expectations
*This is offered virtually, outside distanced, or indoors with masks on, depending on your comfort level during COVID.
-
After you are full term, I will be by my phone and available to communicate, answer questions, and support you in any way.
Once labor begins we will stay in communication. I will encourage you and normalize your experience while providing guidance on when the right time to go to the hospital is, if that is your plan.
When you are ready for extra support I will join you and remain with you throughout your birth providing continuous physical and emotional support including:
assistance with positioning
encouraging the continuous progression of labor
massage and counter-pressure
affirmations and encouragement
breathing and relaxation
aromatherapy
educational support
warm and compassionate presence
advocacy
Support for your partner if applicable
Typically I will stay 1-2 hours for continued care during placenta delivery and assist with the first latch if you plan to breast or chest feed.
For URGENT support, I will be available 24/7 from date of contract.
For non-urgent matters, I commit to answering any emails/texts or calls within 24 hours of sent date unless otherwise discussed.

offered in your home. During the first check in I will provide basic lactation support and/or bottle feeding tips, answer questions about newborn care, hold space to process the birth, and give other recommendations to aid in your recovery.
The second visit is dedicated to giving you closure from pregnancy, birth, and the initial postpartum period. This is usually done 1-2 months after birth- in many cultures this time for reflection and closure after birth is common practice. I come to your home, we check in on how things are going, then I draw you a healing herbal bath to warm your body followed by a full body postpartum massage and then we end with some closing reflections on the birth. This is a really special time for you to receive nurturing touch and to be lovingly taken care of just like you are caring for your new baby!
For URGENT support, I will be available 24/7 from date of contract.
For non-urgent matters, I commit to answering any emails/texts or calls within 24 hours of sent date unless otherwise discussed.
